Astrology with TBH Magic: Eclipse Season 2022
Hey angels! It’s Erin River Sunday from TBH Magic back again…and this time I’m here to talk all things ECLIPSES!
I could wax poetic about the powerful magic of eclipses for WAY more time than pretty much anyone I know would care to listen…but I’ll try to keep this succinct for y’all :-)
First off, Eclipses happen every single year. So while they’re not especially “rare” like some other astrological happenings- they ARE especially potent.
Eclipses arrive in “pairs” of signs each year, and this year, we’re experiencing them on the Taurus/Scorpio axis. If you’re familiar with your birth chart, take a peek at which houses those signs rule. That’s where you’re going to feel major shifts in your life around these dates!

Partial SOLAR Eclipse Apr 30, 2022, at 10° Taurus - New Moon
Total LUNAR Eclipse May 16, 2022, at 25° Scorpio - Full Moon
Partial SOLAR Eclipse Oct 25, 2022, at 2° Scorpio - New Moon
Total LUNAR Eclipse November 8, 2022, at 16° Taurus - Full Moon
Eclipse Season Rituals
Release through yoga, acupuncture, and other spiritually aligned practices will serve all signs in 2022. As will connecting with the emotional body in whatever way serves you best.
For the Scorpio eclipses specifically, it's nice to focus on its planetary rulers. Scorpio is traditionally ruled by Mars, and in modern astrology, ruled by Pluto. Both of these planets are about POWER and tied to sexuality. Release through sex, solo or with partner(s) is a powerful ritual, specifically during the May and October eclipses. How can you make sex more special? More SAFE? More emotionally vulnerable? Don't be afraid to go there.
Mars and Pluto activate the Sacral Chakra, which is said to be blocked by fear. Scorpio is known for being fearsome...but that same energy can turn negative when it isn't channeled. These eclipses will highlight power imbalances, and ask you to release any ways in which you've let unhealthy fear hold you back.
Finally, if you have an altar space (or would like to create one in 2022), dedicating some objects to Mars and Pluto are a great way to ritualize your release. The color RED is especially powerful, as are any objects that empower you personally, or that used to empower you, but you're ready to shed for a new version.
The release that happens around the Scorpio eclipses in 2022 will be about facing down your fears, once and for all, so that we can collectively move forward.
As we enjoy the first half of October, astrologers would have you know that major changes will be coming in the second half and beginning of November. So be sure to jot down these dates as you prepare for the month ahead!
